This article provides a practical and clinical overview of the complex differential diagnosis between post-infectious and autoimmune encephalitis in paediatric patients. Through the presentation and comparison of four clinical cases, the text highlights how apparently similar symptoms may conceal entirely different underlying causes, and therefore they require specific and timely therapeutic approaches.
